East / West Programme

The GIS Department aims to provide more opportunities for cross-cultural research and discussion. In cooperation with the University's David C. Lam Institute for East-West Studies (LEWI), two programmes are maintained:

1. East-West Talks

2. East-West Dialogue

The focus of the series is on political relations between China and Europe, economic relations, cultural developments in both regions, and cross-cultural influences. Traditional values and their role in the process of industrialization in China and Europe, constitutional and legal trends in China and Europe, decentralisation and centralisation processes, and the increasing importance of regions in China and Europe are also covered.
